Overview

You as a highly experienced Craft Recruiter will help build and lead our craft recruiting capability across the Colorado District. As our project portfolio and craft workforce continue to grow, this role will be responsible for developing a scalable, responsive approach to attracting and hiring the skilled craft professionals our projects need. You will work closely with operations leaders, superintendents, foremen, and Human Resources to understand workforce requirements, develop talent pipelines, and deliver qualified candidates quickly.

This is a highly field-facing position. The successful candidate will spend significant time on our project sites building relationships with operations teams, learning our work, understanding what makes craft professionals successful at Turner, and developing recruiting strategies tailored to the needs of each project.

Apply now and transform your career with us.

What you will be doing

  • Establish and continuously improve the Craft hiring process for the Colorado District, creating a consistent and scalable approach that can support changing project and workforce demands.
  • Own high-volume recruiting for craft positions across multiple projects, supporting approximately 100–150 hires annually, with the ability to respond to periods of significantly higher hiring demand.
  • Develop strong talent partner relationships with superintendents, project leadership, foremen, Human Resources, and other key hiring stakeholders.
  • Frequently travel to project sites throughout Colorado to build relationships with field leadership, understand project operations and workforce needs, and develop effective project-specific hiring strategies.
  • Partner closely with field leaders to define position requirements and establish a clear understanding of the skills, competencies, and experience required for successful craft hires.
  • Source and develop pipelines of qualified craft talent for current and future workforce needs using job boards, community partnerships, referrals, recruiting events, social media, direct sourcing, and other creative sourcing strategies.
  • Conduct competency-based candidate screening and recommend qualified candidates to project teams.
  • Drive a fast, candidate-focused recruiting process with a goal of reaching hiring decisions within five business days of application whenever possible.
  • Own the candidate experience from initial contact through offer acceptance, maintaining clear and timely communication throughout the process.
  • Coordinate interviews, hiring feedback, offers, pre-employment requirements, and onboarding handoffs in partnership with Human Resources and project teams.
  • Develop and maintain talent pipelines for recurring and difficult-to-fill craft positions before immediate hiring needs arise.
  • Track recruiting activity, hiring outcomes, pipeline health, time-to-fill, and other relevant recruiting metrics to identify opportunities to improve the hiring process.
  • Support and participate in recruiting events, job fairs, community outreach, workforce partnerships, and other talent attraction initiatives.
  • Ensure recruiting and selection activities are conducted consistently and in accordance with applicable company policies and employment requirements.

What we are looking for

  • Demonstrated ability to build strong working relationships with hiring managers and operational leaders.
  • Experience developing candidate pipelines using multiple sourcing channels and proactive recruiting strategies.
  • Ability to independently manage recruiting priorities across multiple projects, hiring managers, and positions.
  • Strong candidate assessment, interviewing, communication, and relationship-building skills.
  • Ability and willingness to travel frequently to active construction project sites throughout Colorado.
